Ozark to Pruitt
Quite cool this morning. Maybe in the 40s? Packed up and headed out about 8:30. Sign claims 2.6 Made it to Pruitt about 10:15 Car was waiting in the parking lot. No issues with the delivery. GPS had hiked at 2.63. Sign was pretty good.
Overall Thoughts: Trail is a lot tougher than I expected, lots of blowdowns and cliff edge hiking. The climbs are not long but are pretty hard. Not a lot of good views of the River from up high. There was basically no on-trail water. Having the campgrounds with spigots was key. While there were campsites listed on FarOut they seemed more scarce and the lack of water makes them tough. Having an actual hiker shuttle would have been nice but the car shuttle by BOC worked very well. Was a good trail test and I’m glad I did it. My pack weight seemed high at the house. Need to go through lighterpack and make sure everything is right. Burrow Quilt was good. I was not cold and had plenty of wiggle room. My lower back was an issue- felt like I had a stitch all night which only was relieved by being on my side which puts my arms to sleep. Not sure what I could have done to make that better.
