Magazine Mountain Signal Hill - Arkansas

I had a very nice drive in from Russellville in the early morning hours. The drive up State Highway 309 was a beautiful ride up into the moutains. A quick stop at the Visitor Center to sign the visitors log and pick up a park map and then off to the trail head.

The easiest trail head for the highpoint is at the entrance of the Cameron Bluff Campground. It is a 0.4 mi dirt path hike up to the top. Not a very challanging hike but there is a fair amount of elevation gain.

There isn’t really a view at the top but there is a neat stone map of Arkansas with the USGS marker at the Magazine Mountain location.

I signed the vistor login in the on-site mailbox and it turns out that despite being there at 8:30a on a Wednesday I was the second visitor to the high point.
